The club decided on a novel, and so far very successful approach to the problem. On the 15th April, 2006, an investment package was launched, giving people the chance to buy a share in the current grounds. The idea was that the money raised would buy new grounds behind the community centre, beside the soccer grounds and near the local secondary school. The launch was a huge success and every share was sold. Our
current pitch at Turn of Farn, having served the club well
for many years, is not up to the standard of modern
inter-county football and did not reflect the success of the club in recent years.
With the potential for improvement gone due to the
possibility of a by-pass of the town being routed through
the grounds, a new solution was needed.
