Grounds have recently been
purchased behind the secondary school off church street. This is
an excellent location for the planned facilities as it is near
the primary and the secondary school, the community centre and
the new soccer pitch which is currently being developed.
This location could not be more of
an improvement on the current location. There is ample parking
space in the grounds of the community centre etc. The pitch is
in a safe and secure location for children of the community to
use. If all goes ahead according to plan there will be three GAA
pitches and one soccer pitch, a running track, an excellent gym
hall and changing rooms, two schools and a pre-school centre all
together and in close proximity to the towns centre.
It will be a fantastic and
invaluable addition to the town and one that is sorely needed
considering the rising population and the thriving sports clubs.
Its development will ensure the continued and increased success
of sports in the town and will also add an additional attraction
to the town for prospective house buyers particularly young
families.
