of the Year" --

Current Situation
|
At the moment there are several
problems with our current set-up, none of which can be dealt
with due to the possibility of a by-pass of the town being
routed through the GAA grounds at Turn of Farn.
This possibility has existed for
the last five years or so and might well carry on unresolved for
another five.
In order to improve the facilities
planning permission is required and this will not be granted at
the moment. Also spending money on the grounds would not be wise
considering the real possibility of losing them in the near
future.
In the meantime players and
spectators have to endure sub standard conditions that do not
reflect the success of the club over the last few years.
Restricted parking means we only
get allocated a limited number of matches.
Traffic congestion results in
unsafe conditions for the many young people that use the pitch
and walk from the town to the grounds.
With only one pitch we can not
cater sufficiently for everyone that needs to use the grounds
including underage and schools teams.
