Late surge suits Strokestown

Strokestown emerged from the county semi final when a strong finish ensures that they prevailed against a gallent Eire Og team.

A Shane Caldwell goal ensured that Strokestown enjoyed a 1-5 to 0-3 advantage at the break.

Eire Og mage a whirlwind start to the second half with two goals from Michael Creighton. With 10 minutes remaining Strokestown made a late surge and with Cauldwell finishing emphatically to the net, the Black and Amber qualified to meet St Aidans in the final.

The above is the match report from the Roscommon herald, quite short compared to the full page spread done on the other county semi final where St. Aidans beat Boyle. 

The lads may not have played up the their potential in this clash, but you can only win a match and thats what counts. Morgan Bierne and Mark Fallon were best for Strokestown, with Shane scoring two very important goals.

We take on St. Aidans in the final on Sunday, we know this will be a tough match with Aidans being a tough team and well up for the challenge. However if we play to our ability no-one will stop us.
